Former Major League Baseball pitcher Danny Serafini has been arrested in Placer County, Nevada, USA, in relation to a murder which took place at Lake Tahoe in California back in 2021.
Serafini was arrested on Friday morning, as confirmed by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
What happened with Danny Serafini?
Serafini spent seven years in the major leagues from 1996 to 2003, after first being drafted by the Minnesota Twins.
Now 49, he was detained on Friday morning after he was declared to be a person of interest in relation to the murder of Robert Gary Spohr.

Also arrested was Samantha Scott. The sheriff’s office claims they know each other, though Serafini was arrested in Winnemucca and Scott in Las Vegas.
Serafini and Scott will now be extradited back to Placer County, where the 2021 murder of Robert Gary Spohr took place.
What happened to Robert Gary Spohr?
Spohr was found dead at a house in North Lake Tahoe back in June 2021 with a single gunshot wound.
Spohr‘s family believed that he was specifically targeted, and his wife Wendy too.
“We still don’t completely understand the motive of the killer,” daughter Adrienne Spohr said.
