Police in Adamawa State have apprehended a 42-year-old man for sexually assaulting his nine-year-old daughter in Kabak, situated in the Mubi South Local Government Area of the state.
According to the state’s police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the arrest was made on Tuesday following a report filed by the man’s wife.
In a statement released on Thursday in Yola, Nguroje disclosed that the suspect attributed his abhorrent act to excessive alcohol and drug consumption.
“During the course of the investigation, the suspect confessed to committing the offence and blamed his action on excessive consumption of alcohol and drugs,” he said.
Nguroje assured the public that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
