A Florida man, identified as 59-year-old Glenn White, reportedly fired multiple shots at his female roommate during an argument over cats, according to police reports obtained by FOX 35.
The incident, detailed in an affidavit from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, occurred on March 8 in a south Florida residence. Police responded to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire, finding the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to the affidavit, the victim was shot ten times, with seven bullets striking her lower extremities, two hitting her ribs, and one grazing her finger.
Upon investigation, authorities arrested White, who allegedly admitted to the shooting. The victim, when coherent, recounted to police that the argument stemmed from White’s increasing number of cats in the house. Initially moving in with three cats, White’s collection doubled to six, prompting the dispute.
Reportedly, the victim proposed relocating the six cats to an outdoor area, leading to White’s aggressive response. Witnesses claim White threatened to kill the victim before opening fire.
The victim pleaded with White to stop, eventually managing to call 911. Responding deputies discovered four 40mm casings and a firearm in the bedroom, along with a blood trail leading to the dining room where the victim’s cell phone lay.
White faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and is currently held at Lee County Jail on a $25,000 bond. His court appearance is scheduled for April 8.
