Gabriel Idibia, a journalist working for Daily Times, was reportedly arrested and subjected to brutality by police officers for taking pictures of cattle being herded by the police on Kachia expressway in Kaduna state. Idibia was carrying out his journalistic duty when he was detained and physically assaulted, which left his eyes injured.
The Coalition for Whistleblowers Protection and Press Freedom (CWPPF) condemned the arrest and mistreatment, emphasizing that Idibia was merely performing his constitutional duty.
