In a tragic incident that has left the people of Kogi State in shock and fear, a man was reportedly trailed and shot dead by armed robbers after concluding a transaction at a new generation bank in the area. According to eyewitness accounts, the armed robbers followed the victim from the bank to Phase II, where they forcefully took an undisclosed sum of money before fatally shooting him.
Armed robbers, on Friday, unleashed mayhem on a man coming out of a new generation bank in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, and dispossessed him of yet-to-be-ascertained sum of money before they shot him dead.
Eyewitness accounts stated that the armed robbers trailed the man from the bank up to Phase II, Lokongoma area in front of the market where they stopped his car, dragged him out and shot him.
They reportedly took away a bag full of money which he had earlier withdrawn from the bank.
Efforts to get the Kogi Police Command to react to the development have not been successful as calls to the spokesperson rang out.
