The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has established a committee to investigate allegations of sexual harassment against a professor in the Faculty of Arts. The name of the professor has been withheld.
The Secretary of the investigation committee, Barr. B. D. Jonathan, announced this in a circular made available to journalists in Benin on Saturday.
The circular urges all university staff and students who have relevant information or have experienced any related incidents to come forward and share their information with the investigation committee.
The committee emphasized that this information will be crucial in conducting a thorough and fair investigation.
“Please be assured that your identity will be protected, and all information will be handled with the utmost confidentiality,” the circular stated.
