The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two Nigerian businesspeople and an auto parts dealer over alleged attempts to export opioids and cocaine to London, the United Kingdom, and Congo Brazzaville.
The cargo was intercepted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria, and found to contain 924 bottles of codeine-based syrup and 5,250 tablets of Rohypnol. The freight agent, Owojori Olanrewaju Sunday, was arrested, and another suspect, Adewunmi Akeem Temitope, claimed that his mother sent the consignment to him.
The sender of the consignment, Arinze Ora, was also arrested. Two brothers, Ikechukwu and Ugochukwu Ikeabba, were arrested by NDLEA operatives for drug trafficking. The arrests follow an earlier arrest of Ibeanusi Solomon Nosike, who excreted 68 wraps of cocaine after 12 days of excretion observation.
