Suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has assured residents that the ongoing political crisis will ultimately empower rather than weaken them. Speaking during an Eid-el-Fitri visit by Muslim leaders in Port Harcourt, Fubara accused unnamed individuals of attempting to incite violence to disrupt livelihoods but vowed such actions would not be tolerated.
He urged supporters to trust in divine purpose, describing the situation as a pathway to greater outcomes. While acknowledging the tension’s emotional toll, Fubara suggested supernatural forces might be influencing events beyond human control. The governor’s remarks were conveyed in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi.
