An elder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Quincy Ayodele, has dismissed allegations that former City of David Parish Pastor Idowu Iluyomade rebelled against the church before founding his own ministry. Ayodele expressed surprise over RCCG’s decision to bar Iluyomade from the parish after his three-month suspension, stating that church elders had appealed to the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, for reconsideration but received no response.
Ayodele, a WHO consultant who accompanied Iluyomade during his suspension, described the pastor’s close relationship with Adeboye, insisting there was no rebellion. She revealed that concerned elders had written letters pleading against the ban, but the church leadership maintained its stance, leaving members questioning the decision. The development has stirred unease among RCCG members over the handling of the high-profile suspension.
