SAM HILL FROM FOOTBALL LONDON
Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of Real Madrid talent Eduardo Camavinga. The Gunners were interested in taking the French midfielder on loan until the end of the season but it looks as though a move for the 20-year-old won’t be happening.
Mikel Arteta has welcomed Leandro Trossard to the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal’s first signing in the January transfer window. Jakub Kiwior is set to undergo a medical this weekend ahead of his proposed move to the Gunners after he was spotted at an Italian airport preparing to fly to London.
Camavinga has found it hard to nail down a regular starting spot since arriving in Madrid, sparking speculation over his future at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Gunners are looking to add a new central midfielder to Arteta’s squad to bolster his options heading into the second half of the season.
Camavinga’s agent, Joshua Barnett, has now revealed that there is “no truth” in reports linking his client with a move to the Emirates Stadium. Barnett told transfer guru Fabrizio Romano: “There’s no truth.
“Of course every club in the world would want him. He’s very happy in Real Madrid and Real Madrid are very happy with Camavinga.”
