BIRMINGHAM MAIL
Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui has made one change to his side for this afternoon’s game at Manchester United as keeper Dan Bentley comes in for his debut (3pm).
The keeper makes his first Premier League start as Jose Sa drops to the bench in an XI that is otherwise unchanged from the win at home to Aston Villa.
Lopetegui’s team will be looking to build on that 1-0 win, secured courtesy of Toti Gomes’ first goal for the club, but face a formidable task against a United side who are looking to strengthen their grip on a Champions League place.
That win over Villa, coupled with results elsewhere this week, secured 13th-placed Wolves’ safety in the Premier League, a terrific achievement for Lopetegui who was appointed in November with the club bottom of the table.
But the manager has made clear he doesn’t want his side to ease up over the final three games of the season, a run that also includes next Saturday’s home game against Everton and the final-day trip to Arsenal on May 28.
Wolves won this fixture last season, 1-0 thanks to Joao Moutinho’s strike eight minutes from time to secure their first league win at Old Trafford since 1980. However, they go into this game having only won two of their Premier League away games this season.
Hosts Manchester United are fourth, a point clear of Liverpool who have played a game more.
