Chelsea have submitted a £70m offer for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to reports.
The Blues are expected to sign a new striker this summer for incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has agreed to take over at the end of the season.
Pochettino wants a new goalkeeper and central midfielder but his biggest area of concern is up front, with Kai Havertz operating as Chelsea’s frontman for the majority of the 2022-23 season.
The German is undoubtedly talented and helped Chelsea win the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel, but playing up top does not come naturally.
Chelsea hoped Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would provide regular goals following a deadline-day move from Barcelona last summer but the former Arsenal captain has flopped at Stamford Bridge and is now set to leave.
The Blues still have Romelu Lukaku on their books but neither Chelsea or the player are keen for a reunion this summer, with the Belgian hoping to stay at Inter Milan.
Chelsea are one of a number of clubs tracking Napoli sensational Victor Osimhen, though the west London outfit appear to be going down another route and have now made Vlahovic their top summer target.
ESPN say Chelsea – sitting just 12th in the Premier League – have already make an offer to Juventus worth around £70m.
Vlahovic joined Juventus in January 2022 and has three years left on his current contract. But the 23-year-old, who has scored 10 league goals this season, is said to be keen on a summer move.
As a result, Juventus are open to cashing in on the Serbia international, who has also attracted interest from German giants Bayern Munich and Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
