According to reports, Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim is ‘very confident’ that he will win the race to buy Man Utd from the Glazer family.
The Premier League giants have been up for sale since last November. At the time, the Glazer family were insistent that they would “evaluate all options”.
Sheikh Jassim has submitted five offers for Man Utd over the past few months and he is only interested in a full takeover.
INEOS’ Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been challenging the Qatari billionaire. He is understood to be willing to keep the Glazer family on board with a reduced stake of around 20%.
Earlier this month, Sheikh Jassim made his ‘final’ offer and it has since been reported that he is the most likely candidate to become the club’s new majority stakeholder.
Football Insider are reporting that Sheikh Jassim is ‘growing in confidence that he will win the Man Utd takeover race’.

His latest offer is reportedly worth £5.5bn and they ‘are now very confident that the Glazers are leaning towards a full sale this summer’. They later add.
‘As per a Companies House submission, ‘Nine Two UK Holdings Limited’ was listed as an official company, with Jassim one of two directors named in the documents.
‘It is understood that the business creation is a step taken by the Qatar bidders in anticipation of a takeover being completed.
‘It is unlikely that the Glazers will grant exclusivity to either INEOS or Qatar at this late point of the takeover process, with both parties preparing for the possibility of winning the race.’
Meanwhile, a report from The Guardian claims the ‘uncertainty over Manchester United’s potential sale is causing club employees concern regarding their job security, with staff being told nothing about the process’.
It is said that the ‘lack of resolution’ regarding a potential takeover ‘has provoked worry and frustration among the 800-plus people who work for the club’.
