Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly face stiff competition from Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United for Leicester City playmaker James Maddison.
According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are interested in signing James Maddison from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Spurs have made a proposal of £30 million for Maddison, but Leicester want £60 million for the England international attacking midfielder.
Newcastle could reportedly made a bid for the 26-year-old this week.
The Magpies are on the verge of signing Sandro Tonali from AC Milan, but they believe that “they can still mount an offer for Maddison”, according to the report.
Tottenham Hotspur or Newcastle United for James Maddison?
In our opinion, whoever between Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United pay more money for James Maddison will be able to sign the Leicester City playmaker in the summer transfer window.
It is as simple as that.
Now, of course, Leicester are asking for £60 million, and it is unlikely that Spurs or Newcastle will be willing to pay that much to a club who will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League.
