England international Harry Maguire has confirmed he will not be Manchester United captain for the next season.
The defender said the decision was reached after he had a discussion with manager Erik ten Hag on Sunday.
He said the manager has informed him that he is changing his captain.
Maguire said he is “personally extremely disappointed” but said he will continue to give his all every time he wears the shirt.
The 30-year-Old England international said that since the day he took on the role as the club’s captain, it was a huge privilege to lead Manchester United.
