Jadon Sancho has reportedly been told he must apologise to Erik ten Hag before returning to Manchester United’s squad.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has reportedly given Jadon Sancho the condition that must be met for him to return to training with the first-team squad.
The 23-year-old winger has been relegated to training alone, according to a club statement released yesterday, which suggested the former Dortmund forward is serving punishment.
Why Sancho is being punished
The Manchester City academy graduate infamously put out a post on social media in reply to Ten Hag, claiming he was being scapegoated by the club.
Following the Red Devils’ 3-1 defeat to Arsenal, the Dutch coach was questioned about Sancho’s lack of involvement, and he cited the England international’s poor form in training as the reason.
The player, seemingly aggrieved by the comment, put out the following statement:
“Please don’t believe everything you read,” Sancho stated in a statement on X.com. “I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue.”
“I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into. I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair.”
Sancho must apologise
The parties have seemingly begun a journey towards reconciliation, as Sancho has since removed the post from his X account.
