Arsenal eye Dominic Solanke as Viktor Gyokeres alternative before transfer deadline

Arsenal are looking to secure a new striker before the transfer window closes and are now considering Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke as an alternative to their primary target, Viktor Gyokeres.

Previously, the Gunners had set their sights on Sporting CP’s Gyokeres, but his high price tag has complicated the transfer. Gyokeres, who scored 43 goals in all competitions last season, has an £86 million release clause, which Sporting CP is insisting on.

With Eddie Nketiah likely to depart Arsenal this summer—especially after Marseille shifted their focus to Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko—Mikel Arteta aims to bolster his squad with more competition for Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus as he targets the Premier League title.

Arsenal are now turning their attention to Dominic Solanke, who impressed with 19 Premier League goals last season. However, they face competition from Tottenham, who are also in pursuit of a new center-forward under manager Ange Postecoglou.

According to CaughtOffside, while Arsenal’s pursuit of Gyokeres isn’t completely off, it is increasingly unlikely, leading them to explore other options like Solanke.
