Chelsea ‘submit £56m bid’ as Spurs star ‘desperate to leave’

Chelsea and Tottenham are just days away from starting their Premier League campaigns, with Chelsea set to face Manchester City on Sunday and Tottenham taking on newly promoted Leicester City the following day.

As the season approaches, both clubs are still active in the transfer market, despite already making significant moves, including Tottenham’s recent signing of Dominic Solanke. Here’s a roundup of the latest updates on both clubs.

Chelsea have reportedly submitted a bid to sign Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix, who previously had a loan spell at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are also in discussions about selling Conor Gallagher to Atletico but are pursuing Felix independently of that deal.

According to O Jogo, Chelsea’s offer for Felix is £56 million, with £29.9 million to be paid upfront. Atletico, having invested heavily this summer, may seek more money upfront.

Felix, after his loan stint with Chelsea in 2023, expressed his fondness for the club, saying: “I really like to be here. I don’t know yet my future, but these four or five months, I’ve loved it. It’s a top club, everyone in the club is very good to me, my teammates are unbelievable, and I really like to be here.”

Additionally, Chelsea have reportedly made a decision on Ben Chilwell, who has been linked with a move away this summer. The full-back has struggled with fitness, and the Blues may be open to selling him as Enzo Maresca looks to reshape his squad.
