Funke Akindele has said that she shot the Omo Ghetto The Saga movie during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 when she ran afoul of the law.
The movie won her the Best Actress in a Comedy (Movie/TV Series) award at the 8th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award.
In her acceptance speech, the actress thanked her fans for the support she has been receiving for years.
She also urged Nigerians to be dedicated and persevere as there is always a reward for steadfastness.
She said: “I shot Omo Ghetto: The saga during my Covid drama but I did not give up.”
Funke and her husband, AbdulRaheed Bello caused controversy and outrage after they threw a party during the lockdown. They were arrested and sentenced to 14 months of community service and fined N100,000 each.
