NBA calls for ‘thorough’ investigation into Bobrisky’s N15 million allegation

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has requested a thorough investigation into bribery allegations against its officers, including Idris Okuneye, who was released from prison on August 5.

The EFCC chairman, Ola Olukoyede, ordered an immediate investigation, and VeryDarkMan and Bobrisky have been invited to the commission’s office in Lagos for questioning. The NBA president, Afam Osigwe, commended the EFCC’s decision to investigate the matter, stating that the investigation would test the transparency of the commission’s process and procedures for charging defendants to court.

The NBA also called for transparency on the conditions under which Bobrisky served his sentence and called for the attorney-general of the federation, EFCC, and the office of the National Security Adviser to independently investigate allegations of bribery for private residence prison time. If found true, the allegations could mock the correctional system and call for reforms in prosecutorial and correctional processes.
