THE GUARDIAN
Nigerian music star, Asake, has sparked speculation after removing YBNL from his Instagram bio and unfollowing everyone on the platform.
A check on Asake’s Instagram page on Thursday, December 26, 2025, showed the changes, leaving fans wondering about his relationship with the YBNL label.
Adding to the buzz, Asake was noticeably absent at the Flytime Festival 2024 on Tuesday where Olamide headlined the event for the day.
The show turned into a YBNL reunion as former signees, including Adekunle Gold, Chinko Ekun, and Viktoh, performed alongside the label boss.
Tiwa Savage and Phyno also joined the stage, thrilling fans with their electrifying acts.
Asake’s recent moves have left many asking questions about what could be brewing behind the scenes.
One user, @47kasz, kept it short and reflective, saying, “Hmm 🤔., “Maybe him year don complete.”
Others didn’t hold back their opinions on the matter. @AmGoodSin hinted at a bigger issue in the music industry, saying, “Nah why person no dey help person again be this.”
On the flip side, @lesh_szajna seemed to think Asake has outgrown the label, declaring, “He big pass YBNL and Olamide ”
@8Planets_ offering a different perspective said, “Maybe Olamide should just stop giving them two-year contracts. This affects Lil Kesh so much.”
However, @Maxajee wasn’t convinced Asake would thrive outside YBNL, predicting, “Asake will be like any other regular artiste the moment he leaves YBNL.”
@Graph_Art_Lawd wrote, “Asake don dey hear sey im big, e wan fly solo… okay nah.”
