Six nominations, zero wins, did the Academy just ghost the biggest pop star on the planet?
Taylor Swift, the global pop sensation, graced the 2025 Grammy Awards red carpet in a custom Vivienne Westwood red minidress, complete with a thigh-high slit and a beaded “T” chain draped over her upper thigh. The ensemble, paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Casadei heels, not only showcased her signature style but also paid homage to her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, with the red hue nodding to his team’s colors.
Despite leading the nominations with six nods-including Album of the Year for “The Tortured Poets Department” and Record of the Year for “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone-Swift left the ceremony empty-handed. The Album of the Year honor went to Beyoncé for “Cowboy Carter,” marking her first win in this category after four previous losses.
In a surprising twist, Swift took to the stage to present the Best Country Album award to Beyoncé. Reflecting on her own roots in country music, Swift remarked,“Hi, they say you never forget where you came from and I will never forget standing here, right on this spot, almost exactly 15 years ago accepting the Grammy Award for best country album.” The two superstars shared a heartfelt embrace, symbolizing mutual respect and admiration.
Throughout the evening, Swift remained the epitome of grace and sportsmanship. She was spotted dancing with actress Margaret Qualley during performances and shared a sweet moment with fellow nominee Sabrina Carpenter, planting a kiss on her forehead. Swift also caught up with Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy, further highlighting the camaraderie among the evening’s attendees.
Zero wins, but still winning: Taylor Swift’s Grammy night was anything but forgettable
The night’s outcomes prevented Swift from making Grammy history. A win for “The Tortured Poets Department” would have marked her fifth Album of the Year award, setting a new record. Nevertheless, Swift’s seven nominations in this category remain a testament to her enduring influence in the music industry.
Despite the snubs, Swift’s spirits remained high. In the final moments of the broadcast, she was seen clinking glasses with Jay-Z as Beyoncé accepted the night’s top honor, Album of the Year, for the first time.
