Israel promises retaliation against Iran after recent attack

Israel vowed to retaliate following an Iranian missile attack on Tuesday, with army spokesman saying it would respond at the time and place of its choosing.

“This attack will have consequences. We have plans, and we will operate at the place and time we decide,” said Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari.

‘Large number’ of Iran missiles intercepted’

Israel’s military said it intercepted a large number of missiles fired by Iran at the country, adding that there were a few “hits” during the barrage.

“We have carried out a large number of interceptions. There were a few hits in the centre and other areas in the south of the country,” Israeli army spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said.

US forces ready to give Israel ‘additional defensive support

American forces are ready to provide “additional defensive support” to Israel after helping protect it from an Iranian missile attack, a US defense official said Tuesday.

“Our forces remain postured to provide additional defensive support and to protect US forces operating in the region” after “defending against Iranian-launched missiles targeting Israel,” the official said on condition of anonymity.

Germany says Iran’s attack on Israel ‘must stop immediately’

Germany demanded Tuesday that Iran end its missile attack on Israel, expressing fears that the escalation in the fighting could fuel further conflict.

“I condemn the ongoing attack in the strongest possible terms,” Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock posted on X, adding that “Iran must stop the attack immediately” as it was “leading the region further towards the abyss”.
