Fresh attack in Southern Kaduna: Bandits abduct 61 individuals

Reports have emerged of another harrowing abduction incident in Buda community, located in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Approximately 61 locals, including men, women, and children, were reportedly taken captive by bandits on Monday.

Expressing the dire situation, a survivor lamented, “The situation is devastating because we have not heard from them since the incident happened on Monday. We’re appealing to the government to take action and ensure their return immediately.”

As of the time of reporting, there has been no official reaction from the police. The locals recounted that the bandits, in large numbers, launched a raid on the community, firing shots indiscriminately.

Urging for increased security presence, another resident whose siblings were among the abductees pleaded, “We appeal to the authorities to deploy more security personnel in the area. My siblings were part of those abducted, and based on the information available as of this morning, the bandits with their victims are yet to reach their destination.”

According to an anonymous local, the abduction unfolded around 8:30 am during the morning assembly at the school. The assailants, arriving from various directions, swiftly surrounded the school premises.

“The bandits kidnapped over 200 students, both primary pupils and secondary school students, who were relocated from a location outside the community to the primary school due to fear of bandit attacks,” the local disclosed.
