A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) helicopter has reportedly crashed in Tami village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Monday morning. Despite the accident, the pilot was able to survive, and no fatalities have been reported.
The NAF has acknowledged the incident and stated that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash. The helicopter, identified as a Super Mushshak trainer aircraft, experienced a “minor accident,” according to NAF officials.
Locals said the incident happened at about 5 a m when they heard a loud sound from the crash site, which made them rushed to the scene where they saw the pilot emerging from the wreckage.
“A team of military officers from the Nigerian Air Force swiftly arrived at the scene to secure the area and conduct an initial investigation.”
“They cordoned off the crash site to prevent unauthorized access and to ensure the safety of the villagers. The officers also began preliminary assessments to determine the cause of the crash, which remains unknown at this time,”said a local.
The Nigerian Air Force was yet to release an official statement regarding the incident, as at time of this report.
