Former Chief Whip of the Senate, Ali Ndume, has criticized the newly approved ₦70,000 minimum wage, saying it’s only enough to buy a 50kg bag of rice.
Ndume urged President Bola Tinubu to review the minimum wage upwards, citing the current economic hardship and people’s suffering.
Ndume was recently relieved of his position as Chief Whip after criticizing the Tinubu administration in an interview.
The APC national chairman and secretary had written to the Senate, recommending Ndume’s removal as a principal officer due to his criticism of the government.
