Former Rivers State Head of Service, Rufus Godwins, accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of orchestrating the bombing of the state assembly complex. In a leaked memo, Godwins claimed the attack was intended to prevent lawmakers loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike from sitting. He alleged that Fubara’s administration “breached the rule of law” to consolidate power.
The Rivers State Government dismissed the allegations as “baseless and politically motivated.” The governor’s allies insist the claims are an attempt to undermine his leadership.
