Magu charges EFCC staff to brace up for more work ▷ Nigeria news

Despite convicting several hundreds of criminals and recovering billions of naira, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has told his team that there is more work to do.

The EFCC revealed in a statement it issued on Sunday, December 15 that Magu challenged staff of the Commission to be prepared for more work and bigger tasks ahead.

The EFCC boss was said to have given the charge in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital on Saturday, December 14, 2019, while presenting awards to outstanding staff of the Commission’s Ibadan zonal office.

Magu was represented by the Ibadan zonal head, Friday Ebelo.

He said: “There are greater tasks and more work ahead. As you know, the reward for hard work is more work.

“You need to be more hardworking and more dedicated in order to play your own quota in our collective goal to effectively deliver on our mandate to rid our country of economic and financial crimes.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported earlier that the EFCC disclosed that it has recovered over N3. 6bn and ten houses from suspected treasury looters.

The anti-graft agency in a statement obtained by Legit.ng said Isyaka Sharu, the head of the Ilorin, Zonal office of the EFCC made the disclosure on Monday, December 9, during the international anti-corruption day rally.

He disclosed that two of the recovered properties were in Ikoyi and Lekki area of Lagos, while a third one worth over N1 billion is in Ilorin, Kwara state.
