The Senate subsequently adjourned legislative activities for the year with the lawmakers expected to resume on January 28, 2020.

In his 2019 final plenary speech, Senate president Lawan urged his colleagues to come prepared and ready for work in 2020.

He said critical issues like the petroleum industry bill, constitutional amendment and electoral reforms will be considered in 2020.

Lawan urged Nigerians who have issues with any of the legislative deliberations to come to the National Assembly to air their views.

“The National Assembly is here and available for people to come with their bills and of course, suggestions or ideas on how to make the electoral process better and sanitized,” the Senate president noted.
