Seven athletes in the ongoing 20th National Sports Festival in Benin, Edo State, have tested positive for COVID-19.
Musa Ebomhiana, project manager, media and publicity of the Festival, confirmed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin on Monday.
He said the infected athletes had been quarantined at the Stella Obasanjo Isolation Centre in Benin.
According to him, the affected athletes are from different states of the federation and stand disqualified from the festival.
