Micro blogging social media application, Twitter has chosen Ghana as the Headquarters in Africa.
This was announced by Jack, CEO of Twitter on Monday.
Jack says this will help open a job opportunity for people to take charge of operations on the continent for the company as they intend to expand their presence on the continent.
The CEO thanked President Nana Addo for the opportunity he has given them.
Jack wrote…”Twitter is now present on the continent. Thank you Ghana and @NAkufoAddo. #TwitterGhana”
Nana Addo replied in affirmation…”The choice of Ghana as HQ for Twitter’s Africa operations is EXCELLENT news. Gov’t and Ghanaians welcome very much this announcement and the confidence reposed in our country.”
As I indicated to Jack in our virtual meeting of 7th April 2021, this is the start of a beautiful partnership between Twitter and Ghana, which is critical for the dev’t of Ghana’s hugely important tech sector.
