Attacks On Our Facilities Now A National Emergency, Nigeria’s National Electoral Commission Raises Alarm

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has expressed concern over the constant attacks on its facilities.

The National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, raised the alarm after an emergency meeting in Abuja on Monday.



This comes few hours after gunmen broke into its head office in Awka, Anambra State capital and burnt the facility after a battle with security operatives.

In a statement, Okoye said the commission’s office in Igboeze South Local Government Area of Enugu State was also razed.
