Indonesian, Japanese foreign ministers discuss situation in Myanmar

Bogor, W Java (ANTARA) – Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno L. P. Marsudi engaged in a telephonic conversation with her Japanese counterpart, Motegi Toshimitsu, on Thursday, to discuss the situation in Myanmar.

During the 40-minute discussion, Minister Motegi expressed Japan’s ongoing support for ASEAN’s initiatives, including the activities of a special envoy of the ASEAN Chair to be nominated and the humanitarian assistance.

Minister Marsudi and her Japanese counterpart concurred on continuing to work in close coordination to address the situation in Myanmar.
