Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the Labour Party (LP), says he is not impressed by recent developments in the party.
The Labour Party (LP) is facing a leadership crisis, with Kenneth Okonkwo, a former presidential campaign spokesperson, describing the party as a “secret society led by a group of clowns”.
Okonkwo believes the party lacks the integrity to capitalize on the internal crises of other parties, amidst its own leadership struggles.
The LP has been embroiled in a leadership crisis since 2023, with a faction led by Lamidi Apapa and another by Julius Abure, who was re-elected as chairman at a controversial national convention.
Okonkwo may reconsider his membership in the LP if the party fails to hold a credible national convention, potentially leaving to join another party.
