Cartagena Mud Volcano – or Volcán de Lodo El Totumo in Spanish is a 50-foot-tall mud bath renowned for its therapeutic qualities.

Guests climb up 50 feet of stairs before climbing into the mud to get rubbed up on by locals.

Locals call the mud “curative mud” which contains water, silica, aluminum, magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron and other minerals.

Guests believe the mud is “healing” and say it rejuvenates their skin and heals their muscles and joints.

The massages are apparently complimentary.
