Nigeria’s solid mineral strategy has come under fire for failing to capitalize on the country’s vast mineral resources. A new report reveals that the country’s dysfunctional strategy is causing states to miss out on a staggering $335 billion in potential revenue from solid minerals.
The report, which also sheds light on the alarming impact of illegal mining in Nigeria, revealed that the loss of this revenue is particularly devastating for these states, many of which are already struggling to pay workers’ salaries and finance development programs.
