Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has agreed to join Atletico Madrid.
Last week, Chelsea accepted a £33 million bid from the Spanish club, but there were doubts about Gallagher’s willingness to move. However, on Sunday night, the 24-year-old informed Atletico officials of his decision to make the transfer.
Gallagher is now expected to travel to finalize his medical and sign his contract, ending his 18-year tenure at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea had proposed a two-year deal with an option for an additional year, but Gallagher found this offer unsatisfactory due to the contract’s length and his anticipated role within the squad.
