Nigerian TikTok users share account details with terrorist for ‘giveaways’ as reward for praising bandit leader, Bello Turji during protests

SAHARA REPORTERS

A terrorist has made a strange request in a viral TikTok video, asking Nigerians to share their bank account details to show appreciation for those who praised their leader, Mohammed Bello Turji Kachalla, during recent nationwide protests against economic hardship.

The terrorist claimed that their group is grateful and pleased that their leader was referred to as a ‘hero’ by some individuals from the northern region.

He said, “May the peace and blessings be with you all Nigerians. Protesters, we heard you guys are praising Mohammed Bello Turji.

“We are grateful, we are grateful to you, may you achieve success. Bello Turji is greeting. Send your account details; Bello Turji wants to do something for you people.”

SaharaReporters noted that numerous individuals surprisingly complied with the terrorist’s request, sharing their bank account details in the comment section of the viral video.

However, this publication was unable to confirm whether the terrorist actually followed through on his promise.

In a separate development, Turji recently repeated his allegation that the current Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, is complicit in supporting terrorism in Nigeria’s Northwest region, a claim made just two weeks ago.

Notorious terrorist leader Turji has consistently accused Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence and former governor of Zamfara State, of having ties to bandits.

This allegation comes despite Matawalle’s previous denial of similar claims made by Turji. During his tenure as governor, Zamfara State faced severe insecurity issues, sparking widespread criticism.

President Bola Tinubu appointed Matawalle to his current role in August 2023. Turji, who operates in northern states including Zamfara, Sokoto, and Niger, has repeated his claims, further fueling controversy surrounding Matawalle’s appointment

Turji challenged Matawalle’s supporters to investigate his claims rather than dismissing them as propaganda.

“If you don’t have knowledge about the situation, go and investigate and stop misleading the public,” he said.
