Jimi Lawal, former Special Adviser to immediate past Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, may spend some more days with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
This comes as the ICPC has obtained a court warrant to keep him in its custody, for 14 days where he is being grilled over alleged phoney Light Rail Project valued at N11 billion.
SaharaReporters had on Thursday reported that Jimi Lawal, was detained and being grilled by ICPC interrogators at the commission’s headquarters, in Abuja.
The commission’s spokesperson Demola Bakare told SaharaReporters on Friday that Lawal was still with them, noting that he could not be released now.
“Jimi Lawal is still with us, we cannot release him now; we have obtained warrant to keep him for 14 days. Until we are able to get what we want from him,” he said.
