As tensions rise between Israel and Hezbollah, China has called on its citizens in Israel to evacuate immediately.
“Currently, the situation along the Israel-Lebanon border is extremely tense, with frequent military conflicts,” China’s embassy in Israel stated on Sunday, AFP reports.
“The security situation in Israel remains severe, complex, and unpredictable,” the embassy added. It urged Chinese citizens in the country to “return home or relocate to safer areas as soon as possible.”
Despite international appeals for restraint, both Israel and Hezbollah threatened on Sunday to intensify cross-border attacks.
On Friday, an Israeli airstrike targeted a Hezbollah stronghold in southern Beirut, killing Ibrahim Aqil, head of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force.
This came after explosions on Tuesday and Wednesday in Lebanon that destroyed communication devices, killing 39 people and injuring nearly 3,000. These attacks were blamed on Israel.
