FIFA on Thursday approved interim transfer rules, to help players change teams and play at the Club World Cup in the USA next June-July.
The move will allow players whose contracts expire on June 30, 2025, to sign early as free agents for one of the 32 teams.
These teams include Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and PSG.
If deals are agreed between clubs, the FIFA transfer amendments would allow players to play for a new team for two weeks from mid-June before their formal contract expires.
This is because the tournament is technically still part of the current season.
However, players will not be able to represent two different clubs during the tournament being staged in 12 stadiums.
