Russian forces have reportedly endured a brutal loss of “1,160 soldiers in just one day”, according to the latest estimates.
The news appears to be a significant blow to Vladimir Putin’s composure as he marks his 72nd birthday today. The authoritarian leader has witnessed his military being hammered since the unlawful 2022 incursion, with death and injury figures from various sources, including the Ministry of Defence and Ukrainian Army, suggesting a staggering total exceeding 640,000.
A recent communication from the Ukrainian General Staff of the Armed Forces alleges that as many as 661,630 Russian servicemen have been casualties since the Kremlin’s so-called “Special Military Operation” initiated on February 24, 2022.
The Kyiv Post declares these horrendous losses to include an incredible count of 1,160 of Putin’s soldiers fallen in the past 24 hours alone, as clashes escalate along the expansive 600-mile front line in eastern Ukraine.
Ukrainian defence reports claim that Russia has also seen the decimation of 8,933 tanks, 17,710 armored combat vehicles, 26,102 vehicles and fuel containers, 19,156 artillery systems, 1,223 multiple rocket launch systems, 972 air defense mechanisms, 368 aircraft, 328 helicopters, a whopping 16,643 drones, 28 naval vessels, boats, and even one submarine, reports the Express.
Nevertheless, despite the severe blows dealt to the Russian battalions, there’s talk of their incessant artillery fire and seemingly disposable troop strategy making some ground. It includes the capture of Vuhledar, a town in eastern Ukraine, by the Kremlin forces as of October 1.
