COVID-19: Nigeria records two deaths, 536 infections on New Year Day 2022

The surge in COVID-19 infections has continued into 2022 as Nigeria on Saturday recorded two additional fatalities and 536 infections across 12 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This is according to data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday morning.

As of December 31, 2021, the country’s infection toll reached 242,341, while 3,031 fatalities had been recorded.
