Sam Bankman-Fried, the disgraced founder of failed cryptocurrency giant FTX, told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Thursday that he didn’t really “understand what the details were of what was going on.”

“I should have been on top of this, and I feel really, really bad and regretful that I wasn’t,” he said about the question of whether the company improperly used customers’ money as collateral for loans that went bad. “A lot of people got hurt. And that’s on me.”

“I failed to have proper oversight,” Bankman-Fried told George Stephanopoulos. “At the end of the day, it’s not my call what happens. And the world will judge me as it will.”
