Mahmood Yakubu, INEC chairman, was nominated by member of Tinubu’s camp – Amaechi

Immediate past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has revealed that the person who nominated Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from the camp of the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

In a viral video obtained by DAILY INDEPENDENT, Amaechi a former two-term governor of Rivers State who contested the presidential primary alongside Tinubu in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) also said he was one of those who opposed the reappointment of the INEC Chairman by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In his words “I am not the president. I have spoken with everybody concerned before the election. There are those of us who opposed the reappointment of Mahmood Yakubu as INEC chairman. The person who nominated him for appointment is a member of Tinubu’s camp. So what are you expecting? Success?”
