Kanu's lawyer advocates justice as Supreme Court hears detention appeal

The leading counsel for the Indigenous People of Biafra, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has advocated justice for the detained leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, as the Supreme Court hears the appeal of his detention.

The lawyer had on Thursday morning taken to his verified Twitter handle to express the Igbo community’s continued hope for Kanu’s release.

He tweeted, “The Supreme Court of Nigeria will this morning hear an Appeal over the continued illegal detention of our indefatigable client, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“We are very firm in our belief that the Almighty Chukwu Okike Abiama will take absolute control of today’s proceedings. His Grace will prevail in judgement over today’s outing at the Supreme Court.”

The PUNCH had earlier reported that the Appeal Court sitting in Abuja ordered the release of Kanu, a judgement which was also appealed by the legal representatives of the Federal Government.

Following his continued detention by the DSS, Kanu’s legal representatives led by lawyers, Mike Ozekhome and  Ifeanyi Ejiofor, filed an appeal at the Supreme Court praying the apex…
