Taraba: Why I declared state of emergency in education – Gov Kefas

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has explained that the poor state of primary and secondary schools in the state forced him to declare a state of emergency in the education sector.

He said this in an interactive session with newsmen in Jalingo, the state capital.

He said his administration had fashioned out plans to give education the much-desired attention, adding that “we have templates of what we want all our schools to look like”.

The governor, who vowed to transform the sector before his first hundred days in office, said 80 percent of his Commissioners would be young persons that will assist in catapulting the state to enviable heights.

Kefas said his government would revive primary and secondary schools across the 16 local government areas of the state, including special development areas, saying the provision of infrastructure and building new schools…
