The Acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has said the Force will strive for excellence and accountability to Nigerians.
He further assured Nigerians of his readiness to provide adequate security for Nigerians, with the assistance of other security agencies.
Egbetokun said this on Wednesday at the ongoing handing/taking over ceremony at Louis Edet House, Abuja.
“The Nigeria Police Force will strive for excellence, transparency, and accountability. We will also include a technology-driven approach to leveraging other techniques to ensure effective and efficient of resources,” he said.
“We will provide support structures for police officers that would cater for their physical, and psychological needs. We will introduce programmes to strengthen the minds; hearts of every officer.”
While calling on all Nigerians to partner with the Force in the transformative journey he would be embarking on, he urged Nigerians to collaborate with the police to “build trust, restore confidence in our law enforcement institutions, and create a Nigeria where every citizen stays safe.
“We will secure the nation,” he said.
