Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has clarified that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will indeed embark on a state visit to Qatar from March 2 to 3, despite earlier reports suggesting otherwise.

This confirmation comes in response to circulating reports alleging that Qatari authorities had declined Tinubu’s proposed visit to the country. The reports were based on a memo from the Qatari Embassy in Abuja, citing reasons such as the absence of a formal agreement on investment promotion and the unavailability of the Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry due to prior commitments.

However, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar assured on Saturday night that Tinubu’s visit to Qatar remains on schedule. The visit is expected to encompass discussions on a wide array of strategic, diplomatic, and economic matters, reflecting the longstanding friendship and close bilateral relations between Nigeria and Qatar.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the significance of the visit, underscoring the mutual commitment to strengthening ties between the two nations. Tinubu’s visit is poised to further bolster cooperation and collaboration across various sectors for the benefit of both countries.
