Following his suspension by the Senate on Tuesday, Senator Abdul Ningi, the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, has announced his resignation from the position.
Ningi, who was suspended over his claims regarding the allocation of about N3.7 trillion in the budget, stated in a letter addressed to the Secretary of the Northern Senators Forum titled “resignation,” that his decision was prompted by recent developments.
“I would like to resign my position as the Chairman of the Northern Senators forum. This is of course necessitated by unfolding events in the National Assembly, the North and the Nation at large,” Ningi expressed in the letter.
He also expressed gratitude to the members of the forum for the opportunity to lead for the past eight months, emphasizing the importance of the forum for the progress and development of Northern Nigeria.
